Family-Owned & Operated

John R. Collier and his oldest son, John R. Collier, Jr., founded Pleasant Cove Nursery in the late 1950’s. Younger sons—Robert, Frank and David—also joined the company as they each finished school. The company was incorporated in 1969 and has since grown from a “backyard nursery” to a 20 farm, 500-acre facility, with an additional 25 acres for container production and propagation.

The Benefits of the Middle Tennessee Region

Hailing from the city that's known as the Nursery Capital of the World, we consider the Middle Tennessee region our 12th player. For over five decades the region's fertile soil, mild climate and geographic location has contributed to our farm's success. We represent our stomping ground by proudly serving as a member of the regional horticulture community and with our continued commitments to industry-changing research.

Fertile Soil

The silt-loam soil of Middle Tennessee is ideal for growing quality stock. It retains nutrients and water and clings together to establish a strong root ball.

Mild Climate

Our climate offers an annual temperature of 59 degrees and 70 percent humidity, allowing us to grow plants that are hardy across the country.

Geographic Location

We are centrally located within 1,000 miles of 46 percent of the U.S. population and have easy shipping access through a convenient network of interstates.
